1. Select your Photograph
- Make sure there is a lot of contrast within the image
- Make sure it is large enough, I.E. It is close up and is there enough detail
- Make sure it is crisp and in focus
If you are in any doubt of the suitability of the image email the image or post the hard copy.
2. Select size of Portrait
A2 = 594mm x 420mm
A3 = 420mm x 297mm

3. Duplicate Prints
Additional prints can be ordered when you place your order - or at a later date. This way your whole family can enjoy the portrait. Please note print sizes are exact reductions of the original so most standard picture sizes can be achieved with a small white border, just detail your size and quantity requirements on the form. We offer two sorts of print, standard black & white and sepia tone, see examples of these on the Portrait Prices page.
4. Sending you Photograph
If you have taken your photograph with a digital camera and have an electronic file of it, please attach to an email. If you have a hard copy of the photograph you can either scan it in (please using 300dpi image resolution scan setting) and email, or post the hard copy using the Postal Enquiry Form.
5. Quote
You will then receive a confirmation that your photograph is good enough quality to draw from and a no obligation quote detailing your requirements. You will be required to sign and return the quote, or alternatively email your acceptance of the quote.
6. Deposit
A £50 deposit is required. This is non-refundable and enables the work to be added to the schedule. Payment methods include Cheque, Postal Order (made payable to Jennie Sanders) or Credit Card (invoice through PayPal)
7. Lead Times
Dependent on workload you should receive your portriat in approx 1-4 weeks.
However if you need your portrait promptly for a special occassion, every effort will be made to achieve this deadline.
8. On Completion
You will receive an electronic scan of your image. If this method is not suitable, a low resolution copy can be posted to you.(with watermarks). Once satisfied, a full invoice (minus the deposit) will be sent, through the post or via PayPal, depending on your preferred payment method.
9. Delivery
On receipt of full payment, the artwork will be posted Recorded Delivery to your nominated address. This will be charged at cost and will be included in your quote.
10. Guarantee
You only have to pay the outstanding balance if you are happy with the portrait
11. Copyright
The Illustration Room have full copyright on all artwork. Portraits are commissioned for the client's personal use only and can not be used for financial gain, or any other use, without prior written consent. We reserve the right to use any artwork we produce to promote our products and services.
